HUGE ITALIAN CONFIT POT

An exceptional grand scale glazed Italian confit pot from the Bay of Salerno in excellent antique condition and with wonderful time worn patina. Italian circa 1820.

Originally used for preserving foods including anchovies, sardines & olives in brine or olive oil, these pots make wonderful decorative items that can be used as vases, hold wooden utensils, or be planted with spring bulbs, lavender, herbs etc.
