A magnificent 18th century Swedish marriage chest monogrammed and dated 1795. Sometimes called dowry or hope chests, this impressive trunk is richly decorated with original hand painted flower and foliate patterns in blue, red, green, yellow & white paint, and features very fine decorative foliate iron work straps & corner bracing.
