VERY RARE 1750'S ITALIAN CONFIT POTS WITH SHELL HANDLES

Two mid 18th century glazed Italian confit pots with from the Bay of Salerno with very rare shell handles. Originally used for preserving foods including anchovies, sardines & olives in brine, or olive oil. They make wonderful decorative pots that can be used as vases, planted with spring bulbs, herbs etc.
